The Guild for Human Services recently elected Peg Doherty of Sudbury to its Board of Trustees. A longtime advocate for high-quality disability services, Peg brings decades of operational, clinical, and human-services leadership to this role.
Peg’s career spans senior leadership positions in ambulatory care, home health, and hospice organizations. Most recently, she worked in a large multisite and multispecialty ambulatory practice within Mass General Brigham.
Prior to her role at Mass General Brigham, Peg served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Home Health Foundation, the parent organization of Home Health VNA and Merrimack Valley Hospice. The Foundation is a multi-state provider of certified home health, hospice, and palliative care services with an annual revenue of $60 million. It supported an average daily census of 3,500 patients across more than 100 communities and operates an inpatient hospice facility.
Peg is also the parent of a 35-year-old man with multiple disabilities who has been part of The Guild’s adult residential program since 2015. She has served on The Guild’s Human Rights Committee for seven years, including six as chair. Her commitment to the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities—and the staff who support them—has shaped her long involvement with The Guild community.
Peg earned her BS from Boston College and her BSN from Saint Louis University.
“Peg Doherty is a consummate and passionate professional,” said Amy Sousa, Chief Executive Officer of The Guild. “Members of The Guild have long relied on her wise counsel. We are thrilled that she accepted this leadership position to support The Guild’s continued growth and progress.”
In her role as Trustee, Peg will contribute to strategic oversight, quality initiatives, and the advancement of The Guild’s mission.
