David joined The Guild’s Board of Trustees in 2023 and was elected clerk in 2025.
He has led advancement communications efforts at mission-driven organizations for more than 20 years, including as director of communications and development at The Guild. He is currently assistant vice president of communications and stewardship at Lasell University. While at Brandeis University from 2004-2017, he led a communications team that helped the institution raise more than $1 billion. He previously was an award-winning sports editor at the Telegram & Gazette in Worcester and a sportswriter and correspondent with United Press International in New York, New Jersey, and Kentucky.
David is a member of the Board of Directors of the Flawless Foundation, and has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served as a youth baseball, basketball, and soccer coach. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University.
David and his wife, Susan, have three adult children and live in Sudbury.
