Thanks to the MDS Foundation, The Guild School’s dental clinic will soon have a new comfortable and accessible examination chair.

Through its Targeted Grant program, the foundation recently made a $2,000 gift to The Guild to replace the aging chair now in use. The new Galaxy dental 3285 X-ray exam chair is due to arrive any day.

“We thank the MDSF for its generous support of The Guild,” says Jennifer Smith, RN, director of health services. “This will allow our partnering dentist to increase the services we offer at the clinic and better support the experience for our students.”

With the new chair, Dr. Gina Terenzi, DMD, can begin taking X-rays as soon as this fall, in addition to the routine services that she currently provides cleanings, fluoride treatments and assessments.

The Guild’s dental clinic represents a key component of the comprehensive medical care our students receive, both at school and in their residences. Poor oral health has been linked to medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes and coronary artery disease. Dental and oral hygiene are essential components of overall health and well-being. The Guild’s Health Services team works throughout the year to greatly reduce the rates of dental and oral disease at The Guild.
