Enhancing quality of life

The clinical team encourages learning to enhance the quality of life for all individuals served by The Guild.

The residents thrive on a strong foundation of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). The Guild provides carefully identified and essential universal supports for all individuals and works to increase self-advocacy through making choices; engaging positively with others; teaching new, purposeful skills; and participating in meaningful activities. Creating a happy, healthy and safe environment leads to increased success in the home and in the community.

Beyond providing universal supports for all residents, the Guild conducts thorough assessments of the behavioral and therapeutic needs of each resident. Always based on PBS, the support strategies are comprehensive, prevention-based, positively focused and customized to maximize each resident’s potential and capitalize on personal strengths.

Due to the complex needs of the individuals supported by The Guild’s adult residential program, The Guild contracts with Dr. Mark J. Hauser to provide psychiatric support as an option available to individuals and their families. The Guild utilizes a collaborative, integrated team approach with Guild team members, the individual and their family to support these complex needs.

The Guild’s clinical staff provides parents/guardians support and general guidance to assist them in the care and support of their adult children.

Maturing, growing

“He is maturing, and I see growth in his understanding, resourcefulness, awareness of the here and now, and his emotions. I can see things that have come from him being enabled and taught to be an advocate for himself.” – Hank S., parent of Guild adult resident
