Counseling

When your student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) calls for counseling, on-staff mental health staff and consulting psychologists will conduct an individual assessment of your student’s needs. The counseling staff, comprised of licensed mental health counselors and licensed independent clinical social workers, provide individual and group therapy to assist students in identifying strengths and barriers to success. Family counseling is available for those families who seek additional support.

We offer a broad range of treatment options for our students including:

  • Psycho-education and Counseling Services, including a Personal Growth and Development Curriculum;

  • Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) adapted for student with intellectual disabilities;

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT);

  • Trauma Informed Care;

  • Expressive Therapy, including music, art, and dance therapy.

Students are matched with counselors based on their individual needs. Our clinical staff will provide parents and guardians support and general guidance to assist them in the care and support of their children.
